Community Learning

Kids Teaching Kids Conference

On the 8th of September, the ‘Save the Earth’ team went to Edendale farm to present to students from different schools. We taught them lots about sustainability at our school and we learnt things about the environment from other schools. For example, what happens if we litter and what wicking beds are. We learnt that you need to ‘Snip It Before You Bin It’  because any ring shaped packaging can go around an animal’s neck and eventually kill it. (Lexie)

The Litter Alliance Celebration at the Mall

The Litter Alliance project’s aim is to reduce the use of plastic bags and create 1,000 reusable fabric bags for the local shoppers,
which will help our local environment and the Darebin creek from damaging rubbish. The culmination of the project was a celebration at the Mall where we made an installation to raise awareness of the impact of plastic bags on the environment, in particular the Darebin Creek.
